Molly Morris is a board-certified physician assistant. She is a native of Trumbull, Connecticut. She obtained her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Maryland. Molly graduated from the Weill Cornell Physician Assistant Masters degree program, and completed much of her surgical training at New York-Presbyterian’s Weill Cornell and Columbia campuses. She first joined the HSS family in 2016 working on the inpatient unit, and transitioned to Dr. McLawhorn’s practice in 2017.
Elissa Solomon is a board certified physician assistant. She grew up in Ridgefield, CT. She received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from the University of New Hampshire and later graduated from Pace University-Lenox Hill Hospital Physician Assistant Program. Elissa first joined the HSS family in 2019 and joined Dr. McLawhorn’s practice in 2021.
Notification about Surgical First Assistant Use
Dr. McLawhorn performs all of his own surgeries, but surgery is performed with a surgical team. A surgical first assistant is a critical member of this team. The first assistant in your operation has received advanced training, so that your operation can be completed safely and expeditiously. The first assistant helps provide exposure (places and holds soft tissue retractors), maintain hemostasis (stop bleeding), and serve other technical functions, such as wound closure and placement of surgical dressings.
Molly Morris, PA and Nicole Natarelli, PA frequently serve as first assistants for his surgeries. They also play critical roles in your post-operative care, recovery, and office visits.
If either assists in your surgery, you will be billed for her services. As with Dr. McLawhorn’s fee, the first assistant fee includes routine post-acute care services provided during the first 90 days after your surgery, including office visits, telephone calls, email, and other forms of documentation and communication.
